Inspector-General of police Martin Malama is said to be involved in a sexual relationship with police spokesperson Elizabeth Kanjela.
Police sources say the relationship is so serious that she is considered a second wife by those in the know.
Malama is married and has children with his wife.
Elizabeth Kanjela is single but has a child.
People close to Kanjela suspect that her child was sired by Malama.
When phoned to say something, Elizabeth Kanjela could neither deny nor confirm the assertions.
She, instead, laughed out loudly for close to a minute.
Then she said: 'you guys are mad'.
Asked why she laughed and what she meant by saying you guys are mad, Kanjela said 'because you find that to be news'.
When pressed further to say whether it is true that she has been doing her boss and that her appointment as spokesperson is due to her 'services' she said she will only respond if the questions are emailed to her.
She gave the Watchdog her email but she never responded  to the email that was sent to her.

Side by side, Malama and Kanjela
A follow up phone call was unsuccessful.
But sources in the police insisted that Kanjela and the police chief Malama have been dating for a long time now.
According to police sources, Malama started bonking the younger beauty just when she joined the police after her Masscom studies at UNZA.
And, police sources say, the two have been very close ever since and Malama has been helping Kanjela through the ranks.
One police officer explained that when the Zambia police formed the Child Protection Unit, Malama who was instrumental in its set up, made sure Kanjela headed it.
When Malama moved to the Copperbelt as commanding officer, he saw to it that Kanjela moved to a new police unit called Diplomatic Security Services which is aimed at providing security to the diplomats accredited to Zambia.
But the moment Malama was appointed Inspector-General; his first change in the Service was to replace Ndandula Siamama with Elizabeth Kanjela as spokesperson.
