EXECUTIVE VACANCY

 

Our client, a leading Insurance Company has contracted us to assist them recruit for the following position:

 

JOB TITLE:  CHIEF OPERATIONS OFFICER       

Reporting to:     Chief Executive Officer

 

·         Assists the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in the development and implementation of the business strategy.

·         Advises the CEO on relevant insurance industry environment issues that impact on the business.

·         Assists the CEO in business acquisition and retention.

·         Researches, identifies and explores opportunities for the development of business.

·         Reviews insurance products pricing policies and recommends any changes to the CEO

·         Assists the CEO in developing strategic relationships with investors.  

·         Advises the CEO on issues emanating from internal and external auditors' reports.

·         Communicates with the company's stakeholders    to ensure mutual understanding on issues that   impact on the company's business and enhance the company's image.

·         Oversees implementation of the company's marketing strategy.

·         Develops and recommends to the CEO departmental manpower requirements and ensures that the operations departments are staffed with the required calibre and number of staff

·         Defines performance requirements and standards for immediate subordinates to ensure achievement of company objectives.

·         Ensures maintenance of discipline, ethical conduct and minimization of grievances in staff through effective communication. 

·         Manages and monitors the branch network throughout the country

·         Assists the CEO in the design and arrangement  reinsurance programmes for the company

·         Any other duties as delegated by the CEO

 

 

Qualifications and experience

 

·         An insurance qualification.

·         A relevant first degree.

·         An MBA or an equivalent Masters degree will be an added advantage.

·         At least 8 years relevant experience at senior management level.

·         Membership to a recognised professional institution.
